2012 Kongsberger Ski Club Children’s Races

Saturday, February 18, 2012 - (Stampede/Presidents weekend)
Kongsberger Ski Club will hold two Children’s Race for J3 and younger skiers this winter. The first race is Monday afternoon (MLK weekend), the day after Gunnar Hagen. The second is Saturday afternoon (Presidents weekend), the day before the Stampede. These fun races offer a choice of short distances to encourage young skiers to race.

Distances
2k, 1k and .5k distances
January - Classical technique
February - Freestyle (skate) technique
Open to all skiers J3 and younger (13 years and younger)
Start Time
January - 1:00 PM - Interval starts
February - 1:00 PM - Mass start, one wave for each distance
Location
North of interchange at Cabin Creek Sno-Park, exit #63 on I-90, 10 miles east of Snoqualmie Pass. Sno-Park permit and Washington State Grooming Sticker required to park. 1-day permits for purchase online.
Racers may use the Kongsberger club cabin and waxing shed on race days.
Race Course
Course is on Kongsberger trail system on US Forest Service land, north side of I-90.
Cost - Free!
Registration
Day of race registration only - no pre-registration. 12:15 to 12:45 PM in basement of Kongsberger cabin. Waiver signed by a parent is required.
Juniors’ Parent Waiver Required
All skiers in Childrens races must fill out a registration form and have a parent or legal guardian sign their waiver. If a parent will not be present on race day, then print out the waiver from the Kongsbergers web site, have it signed by a parent or guardian, and bring it to registration on race day. No exceptions.
Bib Pick-up & Return
Pick up bibs at registration from 12:15 to 12:45 PM on race day in basement of Kongsberger cabin. Return bibs at finish.
Post-Race Food - hot food and beverages in cabin after race.
Awards & Prizes - in cabin after race.
