The 13th annual Ozbaldy 50k is the last of three Kongsberger Ski Club cross country ski races this winter. Ozbaldy 50k is western Washington’s only XC ski marathon.

50k freestyle (skate) technique race
Open to Senior and Master skiers

Start Time
  50k – start at 9:00 AM
  Mass start, in waves based on speed and experience

Location
North side of interchange at Cabin Creek Sno-Park, exit #63 on I-90, 10 miles east of Snoqualmie Pass. Sno-Park permit and Washington State Grooming Sticker required to park. 1-day permits for purchase online.
 Racers may use the Kongsberger club cabin and waxing shed on race days.

Race Course
Course is on Kongsberger trail system on US Forest Service land, north side of I-90.

    Masters & Seniors: Early Registration: $30    Race Day Registration:  $40

Early registration discount until midnight Friday, March 9.
Race fees include $5 to fund race day grooming.

Registration
Register online after January 1, 2012. Register by Friday, March 9 to receive early discount.
(Pre-registration strongly recommended.)

Registration permitted on race day from 7:30 to 8:30 AM in basement of Kongsberger cabin.
Full price applies. Credit cards not accepted on race day.

Bib Pick-up & Return
Bib pick-up for all racers from 7:30 to 8:30 AM on race day in basement of Kongsberger cabin. 
Return bibs at finish.

Feed & Post-Race Food
Food for racers provided at start/lap/finish area.  Water and feed station on course at road crossing.  50k is a grueling race - racers should bring own liquid feed if needed.  Post-race hot food and beverages in cabin.

Awards, Medals & Prizes
Top 5 overall awards given at post-race ceremony.  Age group winners also announced.  Draw prizes at ceremony, must be present to win.

Results
Results posted in the cabin after race or check out Race Results here within 24 hours.

Non-Racing Skiers & Spectators
Non-racing skiers are invited to watch races at the start/lap/finish area or along the trails.  However, they should consider skiing at another location on race mornings (eg Lake Easton, Crystal Springs or Hyak) as Cabin Creek parking and trail use will be intensive from 9:00 to noon.  As always, dogs are not permitted on groomed trails at Cabin Creek.

Lodging

Econo Lodge in Cle Elum (formerly Cascade Mountain Inn) offers a discount on lodging to racers the night before KSC races. The motel is one-half hour east of Cabin Creek just west of Rte 970 (exit #85) on I-90. Call the front desk to ask for Kongsberger rate & book rooms at (509) 674-2380. Rate not available when booking online.
