Ozbaldy 50 K - Sunday, March 15, 2009

freestyle technique

The Ozbaldy 50k is Washington’s only 50k cross-country ski race and was
originally started in 2001 by northwest ski legend, Per Johnsen.
The Ozbaldy 50k is a low key, fun event that keeps growing year after year
with 64 hearty racers in 2008, from a modest beginning of 33 racers in
2001.

The Ozbaldy 50k course can be demanding for the average
cross-country skier with the first loop including the steep uphill and
downhill sections of Ozbaldy mountain and the remaining four loops
following the hilly meandering Cabin Creek course through the Cascade
forest.

The course record is held by Kent Murdoch of Fall City, WA
(2:00:41) followed by Warren McDermott of Fairport, NY (2:01:20) Jon
Fewster of Seattle, WA (2:02:54).

Please join us in 2009 for another fun
and successful event!
