30k & 10k Classic Ski Race

The 40th annual Gunnar Hagen Memorial is the first of three Kongsberger Ski Club cross country ski races this winter. This is the club's classic technique, interval start race. Gunnar was one of the club organizers and a champion Nordic Ski Jumper.

Distances & Fees
 30k ♦ Classic Technique
  Masters & Seniors: $30  ($60 day of race)
  Juniors: $5  ($35 day of race)
 10k ♦ Classic Technique
  Masters & Seniors: $25  ($55 day of race)
  Juniors: $5  ($35 day of race)
 • Juniors are age 19 and younger (born on/after 1/1/2000)
 • Racers & coaches, contact the Race Director if you have questions.

 Online Registration (Webscorer) opens December 15, and closes 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4.
 • Register online to avoid late fee.
 • Day-of-race registration 8am-9am on Sunday (at cabin, $30 late fee, cash or check only).

Start Times
 30k - first start 10:00 AM
 10k - first start immediately after last 30k racer
 Interval starts, 2 skiers every 30 seconds, in bib number order.
 • Bib pick-up for all racers from 8:30 to 9:30 AM on race day in basement of Kongsberger cabin.
 • Return bibs at finish line.
 • Race cut-off times may be imposed. Check on race day.
 • Ski changes during race are not allowed.

Cabin and race course are on the north side of interchange at Cabin Creek Sno-Park, exit #63 on I-90, 10 miles east of Snoqualmie Pass. Washington State Parks Sno-Park permit with Grooming Sticker required to park. Click here to purchase Seasonal or 1-day permit.
Racers may use the Kongsberger club cabin and waxing shed on race days.

Race Course
Kongsberger race course is on the Cabin Creek nordic trail system (course map) on US Forest Service land, north side of I-90. 30K race is three laps, 10k race is one lap. Check the "final" race course map in cabin on race day.

Feed Stations & Post-Race Food
Food for racers provided at start/lap/finish area. Feed station on course is stocked with water, Nuun (electrolytes but no calories), and Clif Shots. Racers should carry any drinks or food needed during the race. Post-race hot food and beverages in cabin.

Awards, Medals & Prizes
Post-race awards ceremony at 2 p.m. in the cabin. Top 3 mens and womens awards for each race. Age group winners announced and pick up medals downstairs in cabin. Draw prizes at ceremony, must be present to win.

Closest accomodations are in Cle Elum (20 miles east), and at Snoqualmie Pass summit (11 miles west).

Non-Racing Skiers & Spectators
All ski trails are still open to non-racing skiers. Non-racing skiers are invited to watch races at the start/lap/finish area or along the trails. However, they should consider skiing at another location on race mornings (eg Hyak, Crystal Springs or Lake Easton) as Cabin Creek parking and trail use will be intensive from 10:00 to noon. As always, dogs are not permitted on groomed trails at Cabin Creek.
